Strategic Innovation in Commercial Real Estate at Sherwin-Williams
During my internship at Sherwin-Williams, the world's largest paint manufacturer, I collaborated with a team of four interns on a high-impact consulting project aimed at increasing LA revenues for large commercial properties. After conducting a thorough analysis of over 1,000 commercial accounts, I identified a significant bottleneck: account executives were losing valuable time in Los Angeles traffic, traveling to client sites for photo renderings. Our innovative solution was to leverage the existing infrastructure of over 100 stores in LA, where store managers, rather than account executives, would handle the photo-taking process. This would free up the account executives' time, allowing them to focus on closing deals, and was projected to increase real estate revenues by 67%.
One of the most rewarding experiences was pitching our idea to over 150 people, including 15+ senior-level executives. The presentation was met with a 95% recorded interest, which was incredibly validating for our team's hard work. This experience not only honed my strategic thinking and presentation skills but also reinforced the importance of collaboration and innovation in driving business success. Working closely with my fellow interns and receiving such positive feedback from senior leadership was a highlight of my time at Sherwin-Williams. Additionally, I was involved in distributing surveys, improving sales pitches, and brainstorming product innovations, further broadening my experience and impact during the internship.
